Support Community Mental Health Through Our Volunteer Programmes
Do you want to make a difference in the lives of young people in and around Sheffield?
We are currently looking for volunteers who can help manage our Discord channels (offering support where needed), individuals who want to plan and organise fundraising events for Shawmind in order to raise money and also awareness of our cause and people who are able to deliver training on our behalf to local schools and organisations, surrounding mental health.
If you think some of these options sound like something you could do, please get in touch as we would love to hear from you.
Discord Channel Breathe Lounge Volunteers
Our Discord Breathe Lounges provide a safe online space for people to discuss various topics within Mental Health, so if you’re someone who has a passion for making a difference in the community, is able to actively listen to people talking and offer your own insights from your lived experience, then you are exactly who we will need.
For more information as to when our Breathe Lounges are running, keep an eye on our Discord and on social media.
Got a specialist skill that we could make use of?
We also work with businesses to help them provide volunteering opportunities through their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities.
Whatever your particular skillset, we will help you make a difference, with whatever amount of time you’re able to give.
If you choose to volunteer with us, you will not only be adding to the lives of those you are supporting but also to your own. You can make a positive difference to those experiencing mental ill health and gain new skills and friends along the way.
Volunteering is also a great way to gain work experience and we are able to provide you with a reference for future job prospects based on your time with us.
Shawmind relies on volunteers to be able to offer our local services, and therefore even a commitment of one hour a week can make a big difference.
